SamCart Review: Is It the Best Shopping Cart for 2023?
SamCart is a popular platform for creating digital products and services. This Samcart Review will cover everything you need to know about Samcart if you’re considering it.
SamCart makes it easy for creators to manage and sell digital products such as online courses, membership websites, eBooks and consulting.
For some of my own digital products Samcart has made it easy to handle checkouts, sales pages and even the affiliate program. It’s led to a massive increase in conversions from day one.
Recently they also introduced CreatorU which is designed to help you get traffic to all your shopping cart pages.
Samcart is an online shopping cart software, it’s primary function and unique selling point is that it is designed to increase conversions. This is done by simplifying the checkout process while still giving you the flexibility of using drag and drop checkout page templates. Samcart has spilt testing is built in too, load in your payment processors and you can have a fully functioning shopping cart ready to make payment.
The impressive stats that Samcart quote on their website at time of writing are over 40,000 customers, 342,814 pages launched, 9.7 million products sold and a stagering $2.8 billion processed via Samcart.
Personal experience and opinion.
When starting out I was looking to use Samcart to help me sell my own products online. It was very user friendly from the start and allowed me quickly to setup an online shopping cart using their, now famous one page templates.
I was great to find that they allowed for split testing as this was also something I was trying out with my own email marketing automation at the time. When I started using Samcart for my own online business the payment methods only included stripe and paypal. But I understand they now have apple pay and google pay too.
Coming from a sales funnel background I didn’t know there were many options when it came to online shopping carts. To be 100% honest shopping cart software or checkout pages as they were known, were beyond me.
I figured, if you wanted things like one click upsells, order bump offers a and b testing to sell digital or physical products and services I would have to stay with a sales funnel page builder.
So you can imagine how cool it was to find out that Samcart could not only do all this with one single checkout page. But I could integrate Samcart with the payment gateways like stripe and paypal because I was already using them as payment options.
What was interesting is that one click upsells with Samcart could be done pretty fast using a their checkout templates. If you want to sell physical products online you would normally be stuck with things like shopify.
Which has an incredibly low conversion rate for physical products online, plus you still need to add in complicated plugins if you wanted things like one click upsells or cart abandonment.
This is why I’m personally doing Samcart review, so that you can check out what Samcart offers because it really does offer you a checkout platform with a punch.
Plus, I really like their facebook group where you can get questions answered quickly by their support team and also the knowledge base which can vastly improve your skills creating shopping carts.
I was lucky enough to interview Scott Moran Of Samcart in my podcast. Take a listen below.
Who is Samcart Suitable for ?
Samcart is ideal for those just starting out but also caters for much larger online sellers. As you can have unlimited products for sale. It’s built for speed, so once you have your payment processor setup it takes literally minutes to have a fully functioning shopping cart ready to go. Plus for those who want to really boost sales it has a built in affiliate center. Along with a free trial and money back guarantee, you really can’t go wrong using Samcart if you want to sell anything online.
Samcart helps you :
Sell digital or physical products online
Offer buyers various payment options
Setup fast via their template library
Fully connect with email marketing
Increase average cart values with bump offers
Utilize their built in affiliate management system
It’s also worth noting Samcart does offer specific features for entrepreneurs who sell digital products or have membership programs.
Digital products are automatically sent out with email from Samcart. I particularly love their cart abandonment follow up series that can be found in Samcart’s knowledge base.
All that being said, let’s get into a detailed review of the primary features Samcart offers.
1. Sales Cart Templates and Editor.
Samcart makes it easy to add elements or build a cart from scratch.
It’s all taken care of for you so that you don’t have too much to worry about.
A quick look at the cart page builder:
The elements can be moved from the leftmost to the rightmost panels. These elements can be dropped anywhere you like into the main checkout editor.
You can modify the settings for any element, and you can even add sub-elements to some elements. You can add text, images, and a buy button to some elements.
You can also choose between a multi-step and single-step cart flow. You can display all fields or split billing and customer information in different steps.
However, there are not many templates to choose from. Samcart offers four templates or frameworks to choose from.
The following framework types are available:
Standard – This includes the checkout area divided into two sections.
Sales Cart – Single sales page type checkout.
Embeddable- Embeddable checkout embedded directly into your web pages.
Popup –Checkout inserted into your website via a popup window.
The checkout templates will vary depending on which type of checkout you choose. Which makes it nice and easy as there are plenty of options.
If you wish to embed the shopping carts on your website, then you will have to use the third template.
You can also import another design, or copy it from another product.
The builder is easy to use. However, the checkout page templates and framework options are not very impressive. But, they do look clean and effective. Plus have all been proven to convert very well.
One thing I really liked though is the option of split testing. As an affiliate marketer the a and b testing has been a goto method for increasing revenue . So it’s nice that Samcart has this built into their checkout pages. Which as a user offers offers great customer value.
2. Checkout Page
Your checkout page should be designed to be as clean as possible. With Samcart, it’s one of it’s best features as it helps guide the customer to buying with the least amount of resistance possible.
This might mean, if you are selling a digital product, then you don’t need to ask for a postage address.
From the templates page you can choose different shopping cart designs, which allow you to put more detail about the product if you wish.
Ideas to include are:
Image – Show a cover picture of exactly what they are going to get.
Summary – A brief description, plus bullet points for people to skim through.
Guarantee – This creates trust, so it’s important to include what guarantees you have.
Testimonials – I’ve always seen higher conversions when I’ve included these.
One thing I did like was the option to have almost a complete sales page template to use. But then still include the checkout cart aspect at the bottom.
Here you are able to add in the basic products details. Including what URL you want to have with the product. You can even setup a custom domain.
Simple things like setting up shipping and coupons are all handled on this page.
3. Checkout Pricing Options and Payment Gateways
Samcart allows you to connect four difference types of payment processors into your sales cart.
In addition to the usual paypal and stripe options, you can now also use Braintree and EasyPayDirect.
One thing to take note of is that you can also opt for payment plans, memberships ( recurring payments ) and also the ‘pay what you want’ option.
According the Samcart , they have looked through their entire database of users and found that if you are selling something over $100 then you should have a payment plan.
Why should you have a payment plan in Samcart ?
Adding a payment plan can sometimes double or triple the conversions on your sales cart.
4. Upsells and One Click Order Bumps
An order bump is an add on product that you can include on the shopping cart page when people are about to purchase the main product or service.
According to Samcart , they state that 1 in 3 people actually go ahead and tick the order bump box. So it’s a super simple way to add extra profits.
Especially if the order bump is a digital product as it costs nothing extra to send out.
Creating an order bump with Samcart is very easy too.
Just create a new product, then select that order bump product as part of the setup of the first.
The same can be said for upsells and downsells.
These need a product creating first. Before adding to the mini ‘sales funnel’. Once people have clicked to purchase the main item of your shopping cart they will be presented with a new page.
All of this can be edited using a Samcart template, but also custom made to your own tastes with their drag and drop editor.
The goal of order bumps and upsells are to increase the average cart value for each new customer.
Especially important if you are using paid advertising. As this allows you to spend more to acquire a customer and still remain profitable.
For each product, Samcart allows you to add up to 5 upsells and downsells, along with the order bump option.
Everything geared toward taking maximum advantage with minimum resistence on the customer side of things as they are all just one click away.
5. Samcart Integrations
Every good platform allows you to connect with others seamlessly and Samcart is no exception.
A couple of clicks and it’s all taken care of for you so that you don’t have too much.
A quick look at the email integrations possible.
The really nice thing is that Samcart also has an integration with Zapier.
With over 5000 apps to choose from, zapier allows you to connect with almost any other tool or app you might use for growing your business online.
But don’t forget, Samcart already lets you directly integrate with most of the important platforms and apps directly.
Such as payment processors, email software, membership platforms, marketing automation and page builders.
6. SamCart Online Courses Creator Review
The new Online Courses Creator from Samcart is a game changer for most people who want to create an online course and sell it online.
Because it’s integrated and part of your Samcart account it means it’s now seamless for the new customer.
This is because they go right from the payment page into the course.
Ask any course creators out there and they will tell you that around 30% of people who buy their courses never actually even sign in !
Plus, it’s free as part of any Samcart account it will save people a massive amount of money as you can now cancel other course creation platforms such as Kajabi ( who’s basic plan starts at $149 per month )
So just by having Samcart handle the online course creation part of your business you are already saving close to $2000 per year.
A quick look at how to build an online course with Samcart :
First thing to do is to setup the back bone of your course.
This includes the videos and images you want to include.
Downloads, worksheets and quizzes.
Plus the structure of the course itself with options for content tiers and dripped content.
Next up you need a sales page !
After all, this is Samcart’s speciality. So again you get to pick from the options available or design your own based preferences or brand.
As per any sales cart, here you get to add in all the essentials like videos and images, the headlines and text.
Plus the exact high conversion elements that Samcart includes as standard.
- Countdown Timers
Now you are stead to take orders.
Samcart makes it easy to manage new customers.
By having your own course it creates more opportunities to sell other courses in your content library to existing buyers.
The Auto Enroll Technology inside of Samcart puts your new customers directly into the course. Which helps to make sure you have less customer support issues right out the gate.
Extra features such as ‘Featured Courses” and the NEW Hosted Videos allows Samcart to be the best choice for customer satisfaction and product creator alike.
7. CreatorU Review From Samcart
Samcart introduced CreatorU to mainly to solve traffic issues.
Once you have any kind of business, you are going to need traffic to make sales.
CreatorU has you fully covered by having industry experts that go through their insider traffic training.
What is CreatorU ?
- A library of 48+ data driven business blueprints (and growing every month)
- Stream videos, read key reports, and download all the scripts and templates we provide
- Access to exclusive trainings from our highest performing SamCart users to help you achieve results quickly
- PLUS, a community of other like-minded creators that are ready to help you, no matter where you are at in your journey
CreatorU could be under estimated. But it shouldn’t be.
Simply because of the big names and the trainings that are showing up inside the trainings.
Lets start with Scaling up.
There are 7 training videos in this section.
Scott Moran and Brian Moran feature in this section.
But so does one of my personal online heroes Mike Dillard.
When looking back, these trainings can only be found in much more expensive stand alone products.
So just having theses as part of the CreatorU experience has tonnes of value.
The next section covers traffic and ads.
It’s right up to date with current traffic trends.
So covers tiktok, but also the traffic mastery of YouTube from the likes of Rudy Ullah and Rafeh Qazi.
But also how to master organic traffic with Kimberly Jimenez.
There are 14 lessons in this section.
So it’s well worth plugging in and taking advantage of all the training provided.
But let’s plug into the Marketing and Strategies section.
Here we get to learn from people like Logan Crockett and Scott Oldfrod.
The real value here is in the advanced marketing strategies from experts not often shared on a regular basis.
But it doesn’t end there.
With trainings such as “Winning Mindset with Jesse Elder” and “Sell Before You Build with Ben Adkins“
The Marketing and Sales Strategies section of CreatorU features 18 different trainings.
As we dive deep into offer creation it’s important to discover the best ways to launch any product or service.
Which is next on our list.
In the launching stage. We get to learn from people like Samcart’s own Scott Moran but also Christie Millar, Amy Porterfield and Joe Simonds.
The main part of this section is to make sure if you are going to release a product or service with a sales cart then you have the right platform to make it a success right from the start.
Add to this, there are 10 sections to this particular level.
But what about actually making sales ?
This section of the trainings are brought to us mainly from Brian and Scott Moran.
From a practical standpoint some of the most important.
Not just because of the content but also because both the 5 minutes VSL slides training and the one page Blueprint has previously been sold at $97 each.
So having access to CreatorU is actually a very impression option within Samcart.
Last but not least comes the Product creation section of the training.
If you have no idea where to start, then I’d suggest this section first.
It’s actually surprising that you can access the knowledge you already have and turn it into a product or service.
Again, the level of training you get here is truly worth the small price of CreatorU alone.
So if you are considering it then simply click the button below to get full access to everything mentioned inside of the CreatorU training.

It’s been my experience that using Samcart is that it’s simple, it’s fast and it converts like crazy.
